Executive Summer School in Social Security
The EISS supports the organisation of the Executive Summer School in Social Security, a recognised post-graduate programme organised at the Faculty of Law of the KU Leuven in cooperation with professors from universities throughout Europe.
The Executive Summer School offers the possibility to look at social security from different disciplinary angles in an international setting. In two and a half weeks you will follow a crash course in the field of social security. Specially designed course materials are provided beforehand.
The 2018 edition of the Summer School welcomed 9 participants in Leuven from 27 August to 11 September. The participants came from 6 different countries, with very diverse professional and educational backgrounds. This means that the multinational and multidisciplinary focus of the programme is also reflected in its participants!
Guest lecturers for the 2018 Summer School included: prof. dr. Thomas Gächter (University of Zurich), prof. dr. Gijsbert Vonk (University of Groningen), Miguel de la Corte Rodríguez (Legal Officer at the Gender Equality Unit, European Commission), prof. dr. Wim van Oorschot (KU Leuven), prof. dr. Rob Cornelissen (VUB), prof. dr. Ruud Muffels (Tilburg University), prof. dr. Tomás Sirovátka (Masaryck University Brno), and prof. dr. Gábor Juhász (ELTE Budapest). The leading professors for the courses are prof. dr. Danny Pieters and prof. dr. Paul Schoukens.
