2023 YOUNG RESEARCHERS SCHOOL
Notice: the organisation of the 2023 Young Researchers School has been suspended.
-----------------
After a successful edition in 2021, the European Institute of Social Security is pleased to announce a new Young Researchers School in Spetses, Greece. The event aims to gather (PhD-)researchers from all over Europe, to spend an intensive week together discussing their research, presenting their work and attending lectures. Afterwards, the participants can return home with new insights and interesting connections.
Who? Researchers working on a project or PhD students researching in the broad field of social security have the opportunity to learn more about social security and research methodology, while discussing their own research with fellow researchers and experienced teachers from all over Europe.
What? The Young Researchers School offers a hybrid course on methodology and comparative research, with a focus on social security.
As preparation, all participants participate in an online module with a focus on methodology. This module is specifically designed to help researchers to outline their research project.
As a second part, all participants gather on location where they have the opportunity to present their research, and receive feedback from their fellow participants as well as professors and lecturers who are renowned experts in the field of social security. These discussion sessions have proven to be extremely beneficial to starting researchers. At the end of the YRS, all participants receive a certificate of participation.
When? The Young Researchers School starts with an online preparation track managed from Leuven; participants receive access in May. The week of lectures and discussions in Spetses is planned from 4 to 10 June 2023.
Where? The online track is prepared at home. For the week of lectures and discussion, a different philosophy applies: in order to create an optimal environment for a productive and inspiring week, the Young Researchers School takes a distance from the rush of daily life and is organized at an idyllic location. In 2023, it will take place on the beautiful island of Spetses in Greece.
Registration fee. The standard registration fee is €1.200. Members of the EISS can participate for €990. The fee includes accommodation including breakfast and lunch, coffee breaks, an excursion, and a farewell dinner. You can contact the international office of your home university to see if you are eligible for Erasmus+ funding.
