Living and Working Tomorrow (2035)
Challenges for Social Security (Administrations)
As the organisation responsible for implementing the Dutch national insurance schemes, the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) faces the challenges of new ways of living and working. Additionally, it must ensure that its public services are ready for the future, in light of other trends such as an ageing population and a tight job market. The Sociale Verzekeringsbank has therefore commissioned KU Leuven and the European Institute of Social Security to jointly conduct extensive research on promising perspectives and potential challenges for social security in the future. The findings of this research, including practical insights, were presented during the conference "Future-proof Social Security from an International Perspective", organised by the Sociale Verzekeringsbank in collaboration with KU Leuven and the European Institute of Social Security. The conference aimed to share insights, increase knowledge, and find practical ways to ensure that the implementation of social security remains feasible for everyone and is ready for the future.
